A Catalan cyborg artist best known for developing the Seismic Sense, an online seismic sensor that allows her to perceive earthquakes taking place anywhere in the planet through vibrations in real time.
For the last 16 years, Moon has been experimenting with the union between technology and her body to explore the boundaries of perception and to experience movement in a deeper way.
Some of her previous research includes 360º perception, the Speedborg, the Pregnancy Sense as well as the Cyborg Family concert -and also, the transdental communication project where she and colleague Neil Harbisson managed to send each other messages through Morse Code via bluetooth powered tooth implants.
In 2010 she co-founded the Cyborg Foundation, an international organisation that aims to help people become cyborgs, defend cyborg rights and promote cyborg art. Ribas was also part of the founding members of Transpecies Society, an association based in Barcelona that was established to give a voice to non-human identities, to defend the freedom of self-design and to offer the creation of new senses and new organs in community.
